Admission Rules

Every person who wants to study at the Ivanovo SMU should submit the following documents to the University:

• Application for acceptance of documents and admission to entrance examinations
• Education certificate indicating studied subjects and marks for final examinations, legalized and equivalent to Russian secondary school certificate;
• Notarized attested translation of the legalized education certificate, the translation should be attested by Russian notary or by the Russian Federation consulate in the country where this certificate is issued;
• Results of medical education admission examinations if these examinations are mandatory in your country; 
• Equivalence certificate which is issued by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, if your country and Russia do not have an agreement on mutual recognition of education;
• Government preparatory course completion certificate (field of study – Medicine & Biology) – for foreign citizens, who are going to study in Russian;
• History of vaccinations against measles, rubella, diphtheria, poliomyelitis, tetanus, viral hepatitis type B, tuberculosis; 
• Original of medical conclusion which is to confirm that the applicant doesn’t suffer from socially dangerous diseases; it is to include:
  • AIDS-test valid within three months,
  • medical conclusions of psychiatrist, narcotherapist, dermatovenerologist, otorhinolaryngologist, dentist, therapist for infectious diseases,
  • chest roentgenogram, blood analysis for syphilis detection, analysis of vaginal smear for gonorrhea detection, serological blood analysis for abdominal typhoid detection, analysis for helminthiasis detection.

This medical conclusion is to be: attested by official medical establishment which has issued the document & translated into Russian and notarized.

• notarized attested copy of birth certificate;
• passport;
• entry visa to Russia and migration card;
• 10 photos (3x4 sm);
• rules and regulations for foreign citizens in the Russian Federation signed by the applicant.

Migration card and entry visa are submitted after arrival to Russia.

All documents required should be submitted as follows:

• for the preliminary department – from June 20 to August 31. 2025;
• for the first year in the specialty "General Medicine" study in Russian / in English:
  • Start of document filing - June 20, 2025
  • Publication of the list of applicants - July 27, 2025
  • End of document filing - July 15, 2025 / August 15, 2025
  • End of internal entrance examinations - July 26, 2025 / August 21, 2025
  • End of contract conclusion - August 22, 2025
  • End of enrollment - no later than August 29, 2025

Admission to the 1st year occurs as a result of entrance tests conducted in writing in the form of testing with a rating on a 100-point scale: entrance examinations in chemistry and Russian for studying in Russian and entrance examinations in chemistry and English for studying in English

To be admitted to the entrance examinations, you must submit the following documents (firstly scans by e-mail, upon arrival - paper originals of documents):

• application form with indication the course needed: preparatory course, basic course, clinical residency (the pattern is enclosed);
• attested copy of all pages of the passport with notarized legalized translation;
• education certificate indicating studied subjects and marks for final examinations, legalized and equivalent to Russian secondary school certificate;
• notarized legalized translation of the legalized education certificate, the translation should be attested by Russian notary or by the Russian Federation consulate in the country where this certificate is issued.
• Medical Education Admission Exam Results if these examinations are mandatory in your country.

Dear applicants! We remind you that according to the legislation of the Russian Federation, your educational documents must be confirmed by consular legalization or apostille (depending on the agreements concluded between your country and the Russian Federation). Both consular legalization and apostille are carried out in the country of issue of the document. It is necessary to confirm your documents before arriving in the Russian Federation.
